The connection between your home and your sense of emotional wellness is an important one.
Lack of clutter, a functional layout, the right palette of colours, ample lighting and surrounding yourself with things you love, creates a sense of calm and comfort, and inspires joy and harmony. I believe we need to design our homes to reflect the type of life we want to lead. In the end, the things that transform a space into a home are the personal touches. And that’s true for improving the wellness aspects as well.
Find the small things make you happy and calm when you look at them, and then fill your home with them. For me, it’s a favorite coffee mug, personal photographs, gifted books, the down pillows and cozy blanket on my sofa, fresh eucalyptus branches in a re-purposed vase and candles on my console table to name a few. Don’t forget to tap into your sensory feels with music, an aromatherapy diffuser with a calming or re-energizing fragrance…comfort is KEY!
what is interior styling?
Essentially, interior styling is about “dressing” a space so that it looks great and feels fresh, current - but not too trendy; beautiful - but livable, all while still being functional and expressing a client’s taste. As a Stylist, I’m current on all the latest trends, but also able to recognize what works best for your needs and your personal style.
